Your transmission deserves the same care and attention as your engine. Automatic transmission fluid lubricates, cools, and cleans internal components of the transmission. It also helps to maintain the hydraulic pressure necessary for the transmission to function properly. The additives in the transmission fluid can get depleted over time. Normal wear from gears grinding causes metal shavings and high heat which creates debris and deposits. With improper maintenance, metal, debris, and deposits build up causing the fluid to overload, which may result in a transmission failure. Regular replacement of the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and filter will help extend the life of the transmission. It will also help prevent rough shifting, accelerated wear, and even transmission failure. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend automatic transmission service every 30,000 miles. GM has increased this interval to every 50,000 miles on most of their 1995 and newer vehicles with the exception of the Allison transmission which is recommended to be serviced every 25,000 miles.
Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) services are often neglected and even when performed, are often incomplete. This can lead to automatic transmission shifting problems and premature repairs or replacement.
90% of automatic transmission failures are due to overheating and fluid contamination.
A typical transmission drain and refill service replaces only 40% of the old contaminated ATF. |
| |
- The remainder is trapped inside valve bodies, the torque converter and transmission cooler lines.
- New ATF from a conventional drain and refill service can often loosen damaging sludge and varnish deposits leading to shift problems and even transmission failure.
- Automatic transmission replacement can cost $2,000 or more.

Don't let your transmission take you for a ride. Get Wynn’s® Transmission Flush Service.
A typical transmission flush replaces only about 40% of the old, contaminated fluid. Wynn's Transmission Flush Service safely removes sludge and varnish deposits and replaces over 95% of the used fluid, then conditioners are added to the fresh ATF to extend ATF life, revitalize seals and 0-rings and help maintain smooth shifting.

SERVICE OPTIONS:
Automatic Transmissions:
(Option 1) (RECOMMENDED)
Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange & Filter Replacement – Starting at $174.99 + tax*
Our Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange & Filter Replacement service includes:
- professional cleaning additive
- shifting slowly through all gears with transmission at operating temperature (required for proper results) to safely remove varnish deposits and clean all internal transmission components
- exchanging the fluid in the transmission system, including the torque converter, transmission cooler, and transmission cooler lines
- removing the transmission pan
- removing the old transmission filter and replacing it with a new transmission filter
- removing the old gasket material
- replacing the pan gasket with a new gasket and reinstalling the pan
- refilling the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid to the proper level
- professional automatic transmission treatment to condition seals and rings

(Option 2)
Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange Only – Starting at $99.99 + tax*
Our Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange service includes:
- professional cleaning additive
- shifting slowly through all gears with transmission at operating temperature (required for proper results) to safely remove varnish deposits and clean all internal transmission components
- exchanging the fluid in the transmission system, including the torque converter, transmission cooler, and transmission cooler lines
- professional automatic transmission treatment to condition seals and rings
Remember: This service alone will exchange the old fluid from the system. However, the old transmission filter will retain the contaminants previously collected, therefore increasing the chances of a clogged filter resulting in transmission shifting problems or failure. For this reason, we highly recommend Option 1!

(Option 3)
Automatic Transmission Filter Replacement – Starting at $74.99 + tax*
The automatic transmission filter helps remove dirt and contaminants from the automatic transmission fluid. Our Automatic Transmission Filter Replacement Service includes:
- removing the transmission pan
- removing the old transmission filter and replacing it with a new transmission filter
- removing the old gasket material
- replacing the pan gasket with a new gasket and reinstalling the pan
- refilling the transmission with new automatic transmission fluid to the proper level
Remember: This service alone will usually only remove 30%-50% of the old transmission fluid from the system. For this reason, we highly recommend Option 1!

Manual Transmissions:
Manual transmission fluid provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts, and other internal components. Heat, pressure, and friction can slowly breakdown the additives in the manual transmission fluid. In addition, small particles of metal may come off the gears as they wear and these metal particles can mix with the fluid. The fluid can also become contaminated with water. This is why it is important to keep the fluid changed at the proper interval. We recommend manual transmission service every 50,000 miles.
Manual Transmission Service – Starting at $29.99 + tax*

Our Manual Transmission Service includes:
- evacuating the old manual transmission fluid
- filling the manual transmission fluid with the manufacturer's recommended type and quantity of new fluid
